Riya’s home finding….

Riya was sitting near the window in her room staring at the dark sky. Her friend was busy cleaning up the mess in the room as bed time was nearing. Today, Riya was upset. Upset as her best friend Tina left her alone in the room that they shared for the past 3 years.

Riya has been waiting to go home like Tina went today. She missed experiencing the homely feeling and the family love. She longed for all the toys and shopping mom dad did. All this while she has been waiting for her time to go Home.. But until now she wasn’t so desperate because she had her best friend. With whom she shared, cried, laughed and had fun. Riya was getting restless now. She kept switching sides on her bed until she saw the sun shining bright through her window.

The 6 year old was craving for love. Love from the parents who would adopt her. She was being hopeful that soon her parents would be there to take her. And all her happy stories would get wings to turn into reality.

But she was uncertain how long she had sit staring out of the window in the room which was now her "Waiting room…."

A Never Ending Summer

Mumbai is also known as “City of Dreams”. A city that fulfills everyone’s dreams. Everybody wants to settle in the financial capital for its gives them greater employment opportunities, good salary packages and a metro life. Large number of people migrate everyday to the “city of dreams” to earn a good living.

Mumbai also has another side. Being surrounded by a long coastal line the climate here a dry and humid. One can actually phantom that he/she is losing calories. But is the humid climate that makes you sweat. Mumbai is humid 12 months of the year. One can only see himself/herself boiling up due to the dry and hot climate. And if you travel in the Mumbai locals to your work place then there is no scope you would reach office without dripping sweat. Be it in winter for that matter. Winters are actually myth for this city leaving aside couple of nights when one can comfortably breathe without an AC. Such nights become headlines in the newspapers next day stating “Mumbai’s coldest night with 18 degree Celsius”.

Feeling pleasant is observing winter. You can see the Juice centers and ice cream shops crowded all around the clock. So forget of sleeping without switching on your ceiling fans and Air conditioners (Ac’s) even in the months of December and January.

Talking about summer, I personally don’t feel any different apart from being a bit more dis-pleasured if I have to walk on the streets during afternoons. But once a person decides to reside in Mumbai one should also be prepared to experience “summer” as season of the year.

For it would be no wrong if I say that Mumbai has only one seasonA Never Ending Summer”.

Earth Our State

We haven’t changed as we pretend,
Discrimination was in the past and we still do.

As a nation just the inflation rate has grown,
But we live back in the era where racism was sown.

No technology, no privatization, no globalization has made any difference,
For we only think of caste, religion, region and NO SENSE.

Loving someone and Marrying out of community are misdeeds,
Assassinations, homicide in the name of religion are justified deeds.

Separated by Gods, we have the same skin, a heart to love,
Everybody wants to spread their message like a mourning dove.

Is it really burdensome to respect each one and unite?
Stout-heartedness is in acceptance and pool to ignite.

Now is the time to abandon the age-old thoughts, it’s not too late,
All this is possible when we shall consider Earth as Our State.
